Job Description

As our new Sales Engineer you will belong to a fantastic sales team who are all hungry to develop their sales.  You will start by committing to an in-depth technical training programme that teaches you the engineering behind our products and how to specify them.  We have complex products and huge variation, so the training will be technically challenging, of a high quality, and in a very supportive classroom-based environment. Your role will involve:

  • Developing sales with long established customers and newer accounts.
  • Handling telephone and other sales enquiries.
  • Creating technical quotations and taking opportunities to build customer relationships.
  • Visiting customers, when needed, to establish and maintain contact with key accounts. 
  • Performing sales administration to assist with the above as well as contributing  to other sales projects.

This role entails working office hours, 8.30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday with travel to customers when needed.

Person Specification

With good GCSE’s/equivalent in Maths and English, and ideally other qualifications or work experience that indicates you can successfully get to grips with our technical engineering training, you will also have: 

  • A strong interest in developing a sales career, focused on long term relationship development.
  • A strong interest in technical products.
  • Previous experience in customer facing roles, in person or over the phone, with a clear ability to build customer rapport and relationships.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to deal with enquiries and quotations at a fast pace.
  • Previous sales experience, particularly in a B2B environment would be advantageous. 
  • Confident user of office technology, particularly excel which is used for equipment calculations and at ease with sales administration.
