Working Hours: Monday to Friday.  Reduced hours and hybrid working may be considered following a successful training and probation period.

Job Description

As our Finance Assistant, your role will involve:

  • Maintaining the accuracy of the Purchase Ledger, including invoice processing, query resolution, verifying bank payments and raising authorised payments.

  • Supporting the Sales Ledger through timely posting and allocation of receipts.

  • Managing the Finance inbox efficiently, ensuring tasks are completed or queries redirected promptly.

  • Assisting with credit administration, including credit approvals, monitoring customer spend, identifying credit limit issues and helping to prevent overdue debt.

  • Supporting banking administration and providing cover, within authorised limits, during the Financial Manager’s absence.

  • Completing finance-related administration, including supplier payments linked to building operations and collating information for external stakeholders.

  • Assisting with ad‑hoc tasks, projects and continuous improvement initiatives within the Finance team.

Person Specification

This role will suit an experienced accounts administration professional who enjoys working accurately to deadlines.

You will have:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English at grade C or above. 

  •  At least two years’ experience in an accounts administration role, including purchase ledger and double‑entry bookkeeping.

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to deliver accurate work at pace. 

  •  Confidence using Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.

  •  Experience working in a busy office environment and managing multiple priorities. 

Ideally you will also have:

  •  An AAT qualification or be studying towards it.

  •  Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. 

  • Intermediate Excel skills, including PivotTables.
